No injuries in Naperville apartment fire

No injuries were reported Thursday in an apartment fire on the 700 block of Inland Circle in Naperville, although residents in several neighboring units had to be evacuated.

The fire apparently was sparked by an overheated kitchen appliance, according to the Naperville Fire Investigation team. No one was home at the time.

No damage estimates were immediately available, but the apartment unit was deemed uninhabitable because of smoke and fire damage.

Firefighters said they responded at 12:19 p.m. and arrived to find the fire burning in the kitchen of the apartment. It took them just 10 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

Roughly two dozen firefighters responded.
